Kitchen
The spacious kitchen is a later addition. The utility room was only added during the recent refurbishment in 1988 in place of a former wooden lean-to shed.

All in all the building has grown to a length of 17 meters while being only 4.5 meters wide. In 1985 the cottage was all but derelict. It had to be stripped to the bare walls and was then carefully restored. The roof was lifted by 15 inches to provide sufficient headroom for three bedrooms on the upper floor.
plumbing and electrical installations
When the cottage was refurbished in 1988 it was also equipped with two bathrooms and central heating and was linked to mains electricity, telephone, gas, water and sewage. In the late 1990s the standard of sanitary and electical installations was further improved integrating a garden flood light, a burglar and smoke alarm system fitted in all rooms, the roof and the garage (wireless reporting system).
