How we advertise

We advertise via "Internet Cottages" and "Cottageguide". Little Meadows is predominantly our private holiday home and is therefore not at all times available for paying guests. The money we receive from guests is solely to pay for the overheads caused by Little Meadows. We have no business relationship with any professional rental agency. (It appears that some agencies pretend they have our cottage under contract, probably in order to arouse interest in their business and then divert inquiries to their own cottages).

Our rates

 Weekly rates range from 450 to 1100 GBP according to season. We offer discounts for rentals longer than one week, however the maximum rental period is 4 weeks. Short breaks (up to four nights) can be arranged outside high season (Summer and Xmas). They usually cost 2/3 of the weekly rate. The lowest off-season rate for weekend breaks is 300 GBP for parties of no more than four people and 360 GBP for 5 and more. We do not allow parties of more than 7 people.

The booking procedure

If you have been informed of a suitable vacancy you will receive a customized booking form by e-mail attachment containing all necessary further information as well as our personal details. The Booking Forms and Rental Agreements on this website are just samples in order to give you some preliminary information (pdf, doc, rtf) After we have received the signed form by fax or post we shall guarantee your reservation for 10 days. By then you should have paid the required sums as detailed in the booking form. Finally we shall send you a formal letter of confirmation. Housekeeping and gardening

Dawn Gepheart, our housekeeper, will phone you before your arrival and introduce you to the cottage. When you arrive everything will be ready for you. The house will be warm and clean, the beds made, the heating on, logs and coal ready for a fire, towels on the racks. Dawn makes every effort to make you feel welcome at Little Meadows. All our personal items are locked away, but of course you have free access to all appliances and all kitchenware, tools, toys and garden furniture in the workshop. During your stay you can call Dawn should you have any queries or problems. She lives nearby. We also have a gardener, John Mays, who comes regularly to mow the lawn, weed, trim, tidy up and perform minor repairs. 

How to contact us

For all initial inquiries we ask you to use our e-mail address or fax. If you have decided to make a booking we shall of course supply our full details, telephone numbers and addresses of ourselves and Dawn. We are then happy to communicate with you personally on the phone. In order to give you and us sufficient time for clarifying who we are and what we want and for reliable money transactions we cannot accept last minute bookings. Please allow a minimum of 10 days between your booking application and your proposed start of the holiday.
